Is Telephono an app?

Most of our features can be accessed through our iOS and Android mobile apps, although you can also use Telephono without an app by forwarding calls to a landline.

Does Telephono replace my service provider?

No, and this is important. We provide a lot of awesome features, but you still need a service provider and a primary phone number where you can forward calls.

What is Telephono?

We provide a second phone number and a virtual phone system that includes calls, custom greetings, extensions, and more. Check out the different ways that customers are using Telephono.

Am I paying by the minute?

Nope! You get unlimited minutes through all our plans. The only thing that restricts app usage is your carrier’s data plan.

Is Telephono a VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phone service?

Not exactly. To best serve your business’s needs, we use your service provider’s cell network for calls. We do offer VoIP and WiFi Calling options, but you have to specifically choose these options in your plan.

How good is Telephono’s call quality?

Because we use your provider’s cell network, you can expect the same quality and reliability that you get from your service provider.

Is Telephono compatible with my regular phone?

Yes. All your Telephono calls are accessible on your existing cell phone or landline.

How do I set up my business phone system?

Can I pick my own phone number?

Yes! If you have a particular set of digits in mind, use our number search tool to see if it’s available.

How do you change the settings for forwarding calls?

You can easily change the settings for your extensions by going to Settings > Extensions and selecting Edit by the number you want to modify.

What does a caller hear while on hold?

You can choose from Telephono’s three call forwarding settings to decide what a caller will hear when a call is forwarded. Choose from a customizable transfer greeting, on-hold music, or simple ringing.

How many phones can I forward calls to?

The number of phones depends on your individual plan. Silver members can have up to 5 numbers, Gold can have up to 10, and Platinum can have up to 15.

Can I forward a call to a number not associated with Telephono?

Yes, you can forward calls to any 10-digit number. Telephono does not support internet or browser phones with only an IP address.

Can I schedule times to send calls straight to voicemail?

Whether your business hours are 9-5 or you’re taking a week off to head to the Bahamas, you can modify each number to only accept calls during specific times. Telephono offers daily, weekly, and vacation schedules to easily route calls.

Can I use both a local number and a toll-free number?

Yes. You can have up to 15 different numbers in your Telephono account. You can add any type of new extension, change a current number, or delete an existing one within the call forwarding settings in the mobile app.

Can I add an international number as an extension?

Telephono supports phone numbers from all around the world. If you would like to add an international number, please contact our support team to set up international calling.

Are 800 numbers able to forward calls?

Yes, toll-free 800 numbers are included in your plan. You can add a variety of 800 numbers, local numbers, or vanity numbers within your account and set up call forwarding for each.
